High School Courses

Many elite schools offer high school honors or Advanced Placement (AP) courses. However, few allow a student to take grade-level core classes in one subject area and honors or AP in another. Typically, students have to choose either all grade-level or all accelerated courses for the four core subject areas. At North Pointe, we allow students to choose their courses based upon their level of interest. We do not have placement tests for any of our honors or AP courses. In fact, 15 of a students 16 core credits (English, math, science, social studies) can be grade-level classes or 14 core credits can be honors or AP. Beginning with the 2019-2020 school year, all 16 core credits can be honors or AP. North Pointe also offers 28 high school electives.
